At the Knowledge Administration, we work with one of society's most important tasks: to give all children and students the best possible conditions to succeed. We are responsible for Sandviken Municipality's education from preschool to upper secondary school and have about 1500 employees within preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. Together, we make a difference every day.
At the Knowledge Office, about thirty employees with expertise in student health, finance, HR, administration, and IT work together. Here, engagement and knowledge come together to provide the support that the operations need to succeed. We are currently undergoing a reorganization that strengthens our ability to provide coordinated, legally secure, and operationally close support. The change means clearer governance, a more transparent structure, and consolidated expertise in areas such as IT. The goal is to create better collaboration, more efficient processes, and an organization that develops together.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As the unit manager for IT, you will lead a newly formed unit with a clear mission: to create a cohesive and secure digital structure for the entire Knowledge Administration. The mission involves translating the strategy "School in a Digital Age" into practical benefits and ensuring that IT supports both pedagogical and administrative processes.
You are responsible for developing effective working methods for operations, support, and information security, while also building procurement competence and managing asset management for systems and equipment. The work is carried out in close collaboration with operational managers, principals, ITK, and external suppliers. The goal is to create solutions that make a difference in the everyday lives of students and employees.
You contribute by:
- Leading and developing the IT unit and its employees
- Designing and implementing the administration's digitalization strategy
- Coordinating system support and ensuring uniform processes for operations and support
- Managing asset management and developing procurement competence
- Providing support to the entire administration in digitalization issues

- Developing solutions that strengthen pedagogy and administration
QUALIFICATIONS
Leading a strategic and operational IT function is about more than technology. It requires the ability to create engagement and build trust. Motivating and inspiring, while ensuring that employees have the right conditions to achieve common goals, is a central part of the mission.
The work involves complex issues where many perspectives need to be weighed together. It requires good judgment and the ability to prioritize. Decisions need to be sustainable over time and based on an understanding of both the operational needs and the digital development. Seeing the whole and adapting efforts for long-term benefits is crucial.
Change is a natural part of the mission. Therefore, it is important to be able to explain, create understanding, and get the administration on board. Clear messages and clear expectations make a difference, especially in dialogues with managers and employees where complex issues need to be made understandable and relevant.
The following is required for the mission:
- Academic degree, at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Documented experience in leadership within the IT field
- Experience in digitalization and IT governance in larger or complex organizations
- Good understanding of information security, data protection, and IT governance models
- Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
Meritorious is experience in working with school digitalization, knowledge of asset management, procurement, and contract management, as well as experience in change management.
